Leon V. Honey

The Life Of Leon Veness Honey

I was born in Schenectady, NY on 31 May 1932 to William Veness Honey and Leona LePrelle Ellsworth. My parents had met at Leona’s home on 132 T Street in Salt Lake City where her parents were taking in boarders. William was attending the University of Utah majoring in Electrical Engineering. They were married upon his graduation in 1928 and he had been hired by the GE Company for which they had come to Schenectady.

My earliest memories are of the house we lived in on Ferndale ave in 1933 after I was born - Mom and Dad had lived in 4 different rooms or apartments before they were able to rent this house - and where I celebrated my 5th birthday. My memories include a beautiful Christmas tree; playing on the floor with Dad in the living room; running around the house through the front room, into the dining room, into the kitchen and back again, a great circle route which we kids enjoyed immensely;
